This course is specifically tailored for grass roots arena operators who want to strengthen their expertise in ice facility operations. Through hands-on training and theoretical instruction, participants will delve into various essential aspects of maintain an arena including the basics of ice plant operations, facility maintenance, addressing areas such as energy use, heating, cooling, and lighting board repairs, glass replacement, and janitorial best practices, ice resurfacer operations including blade changing and levelling, preventive maintenance for the resurfacer, safety protocols, effective shaving and flooding techniques, proper utilization of an edger, hand edging, line and students will cover the best practices for making and maintaining their ice surfaces. By the end of the course, operators will possess the necessary skills and knowledge to efficiently manage and maintain an ice facility, ensuring optimal performance and safety for all users.
